The term modeling brings to mind those impossibly thin models strutting down the catwalk in high heels. Still, Modeling can take on various forms, from athletic Modelling to commercial Modelling to runway modeling to fashion modeling and beyond. Depending on your specific goals and interests, there’s likely a type of Modelling that’s perfect for you, so here are five reasons why you should consider trying it out as a hobby!

    1) Gives you a chance to network

In most industries, connections are everything. In fashion, it’s no different. Even if you don’t have a lot of industry connections now, Modelling can give you an easy opportunity to network with people from all over—all you need is a networking card. Getting your foot in that door will mean a future full of opportunities. Boosts self-confidence: Working as a model gives you constant feedback on how you look and what works for you (and what doesn’t).

This feedback can help boost your self-confidence, which may be something new models struggle with when they first start. With time and experience, though, models learn how to feel comfortable in their skin and work towards building their confidence even more. Once they do so, they often find it easier to approach others and make friends (even without experience!). And who knows?

    2) You can make some extra cash

It’s easy to get down on yourself, but building a portfolio of photos can help you feel better about who you are. Korean models who have posed for their share of provocative images say it helps them boost their self-confidence and that taking time for themselves is just as important as working hard at work.

When all you see are your colleagues and deadlines, be sure to find time to express yourself creatively—whether that means picking up painting or photography classes (or both!) or simply goofing off in front of your bathroom mirror. Your true inner beauty will shine through eventually!

    3) Gives you an outlet for your creativity

Modeling is one of those things that you can do no matter what your artistic background is. Whether or not you consider yourself an artist, doing something creative as a hobby is never a bad idea, and it’s always fun to have an outlet for self-expression. Working on projects like photo shoots will help clear your mind from other stresses and allow you to think creatively. Many models don’t just work in one area of Modeling but also try their hand at acting and singing. The different challenges will keep you engaged and motivated throughout your artistic endeavors.

    4) Even if you don’t model, it’s fun!

Getting into Modelling can be fun, but we all know that most models are a certain height. That’s not to say there aren’t some very short Korean models out there, but if you fall under 5’7 ′′ or so and don’t have naturally perfect bone structure, chances are you won’t ever make it.

So don’t let that discourage you! It will help your confidence knowing that even if you don’t model professionally, many Korean celebrities who have their reality shows (like Park Kyung-Lim) were once models in their younger years! So enjoy yourself as a hobbyist—and maybe something more will come from it!

    5) The experience will take you out of your comfort zone

If you’re anything like me, you’ll feel awkward walking down a runway with many people staring at you. It might not be fun at that moment, but it’s a short-term situation – for those few minutes, your face will be out there for everyone to see and admire. Maybe someone even snaps your picture on their phone.

You’ll probably never hear from them again – and that’s okay! But know that being able to pull yourself outside of your comfort zone will carry over into every other aspect of life. If you’re having trouble motivating yourself or getting stuff done when you’re home alone (no one looking over your shoulder), Modeling might be what you need to get back on track!

Why are you interested in Modelling?

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to make money doing nothing but looking pretty? Well, let me tell you something…Modeling is one of my top interests, as it has been a favorite hobby ever since I was a child. Since I was introduced to Korean Modeling (no name-dropping yet) around age 14, I have been obsessed with it.

Because so many people are unaware of how easy and fun Modeling can be, I want to jump in even more! I am not sure if you could call modeling a job because some days there may be photo shoots, commercial filming, or just simply fashion shows, and your ‘work’ would last no longer than 5 hours out of your day….and on other days you get to go home!

What are the benefits of doing Modelling?

One of the many main benefits is that it’s not only a full-time job but also builds confidence and self-esteem.

One of my favorite things about Modelling is meeting so many new people along your journey. Just walking into a photoshoot, you’ll likely meet everyone from makeup artists other models, photographers, and clothing designers. I’m sure you’ve experienced some amazing connections with all types of people in your journey. Working hard is one thing, but why would you keep doing it if it isn’t enjoyable?

What are the interests in Modelling?

It is a good idea to research your interests in Modelling and why it might be a good hobby. For example, if you are interested in acting and Modeling will give you more experience in front of a camera, that could be interesting.

Interest in Modelling can help ensure it is a good hobby for you instead of just something fun. Remember that Modeling should never be done with getting paid as your main goal or doing it all day because your friends do it. It can take some time, but if you love something, there will always be opportunities for Modelling.

How do you introduce yourself in a modeling audition?

Before you meet with a photographer or casting agent, prepare an introductory script so you can introduce yourself professionally and explain what interests you in Modelling. It’s a good idea to be natural, show off your personality and share some hobbies so that your potential contacts know what they can expect when they meet you.

If a casting agent asks why he should sign you, mention how experienced or professional a model you are or point out some specific skills that make you a good fit for their company. Be prepared to answer if they ask any questions regarding your height or weight as well – there are almost always minimums when it comes to models’ measurements. Final Thoughts

Money isn’t everything. It can be difficult to transition from working for money and paying for something you do not love to working at something you love and paying your bills. If Modelling interests you, now is your time to jump in head first, as there has never been a better time in history to become an online model. With sites like Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr having more influence than ever before, being able to change your identity overnight has never been so easy. Don’t wait until you are 40 years old with two children, a mortgage, and no talent or creativity left – start now! Work on building up a great portfolio of work and put yourself out there – people will come flocking toward great models.
