Why animated videos are so engaging
This is why animation works better than any other video format, especially when it’s done in a clear and simple manner. Check out our reasons and decide if you agree.
1. They are visually stunning
What is the biggest difference between an animated film and a live-action movie? The way they present themselves visually is the most important distinction between live-action and animated films. There are many beautiful and innovative movies in both genres, but animated films have an advantage because they don’t have to conform to the limitations of reality. Although live-action filmmakers may be able to create stunning scenes using impeccable sets and costumes they will not have the same level of control over their world as animators who use fully animated characters.
1.) It won’t be out of fashion so quickly.
Videos don’t get old no matter how big or small. Take films from the eighties as an example. They show their age in both their dress senses and the quality of their films, no matter how large their budget. Even though many movies made in the nineties look older, Toy Story is still as charming as ever. The same goes for internal videos. They shouldn’t be out of date within a year after they were produced!
2.) It is more visually appealing.
The attention spans of people are shrinking. YouTube videos have only twelve seconds to engage their viewers before they are lost. We are fidgety and distracted. You need a lot to get someone’s attention with live-action videos. However, simpler animation visuals are more likely to catch their attention. Also…
3.) …it’s cheaper.
This means you can include explosions and fast cars if you wish. Perhaps I am going to go out on a limb, but the average budget for animated video production is not that large. Animation can do anything. Want a unicorn? Done. The Oort Cloud’s gravitational influence. A cute cat. It’s odd, but it is true. You can do it with a live-action video.
4.) It is more accessible.
It can be overwhelming and even worrying to discuss corporate topics, particularly if they involve internal processes or changes in management. Live-action films, such as talking heads clips, can easily appear intimidating and heavy with information. Animation disarms your audience and makes them feel threatened by the new knowledge that is being given to them. Animations are more engaging and result in better retention of information.
5.) It’s international.
Have you ever seen a movie about dubbed martial art? The actors don’t appear very professional, as we can all agree. The translation is poor and the actors’ lips are not in line with their words. Subtitles are a better choice, but people tend to pay more attention to the words than the events. Animation is easier to localize (cartoons aren’t afraid of re-recording lines, you don’t have to bear video language translation service cost), and it’s simple, culturally neutral style makes it appealing to everyone, regardless of where they may be watching.
This is not to say that live-action video does not have its place. We love our blockbuster movies at simple shows. It’s important to explain things clearly when explaining. Animations are the best way to do that.
