What does your dream bathroom look like? For most people, it’s the combination of sleek and simple elements of modern design and the classic nostalgia of traditional styles. This haven of calmness and relaxation won’t be complete without fittings and fixtures, cabinetry, vanities, shower boxes, stylish tile flooring, and other essential elements.

If you’re trying to compose the perfect image of this tranquil space in your home, this article will help you list some of the essential and recommended components of a dream bathroom.

Essential Components of a Perfect Bathroom

Whether building or remodelling your master bath or a regular bathroom, the classic and modern elements featured below can help you create a unique and restful space.

    Mirrors and Vanity

The combination of a sink and a storage structure below makes a vanity the perfect balance of form and function. A vanity is a lovely complement to any uniquely shaped bathroom mirror.

Vanities also come in different materials. You can choose from plywood, medium-density plyboard, and particle boards. Some homeowners prefer solid wood, as this material adds a natural element to the space.

For mirrors, you can choose from a range of framed, pivot, lighted, Venetian, ledge, and medicine cabinet mirrors, depending on your needs.

    Fixtures and Fittings

Aside from picking a vanity, choosing other fixtures and fittings for your bathroom is a personal journey.

You can fully customise your space’s overall look by installing tubs, washbasins, toilets, and cabinets according to your design and functional preferences. You can choose the finishes and materials for your taps, shower head, faucet, and other fittings to complement your primary fixtures.

    Shower Boxes

One of the emerging designs that many modern bathroom fans dream of is the shower box, a more practical alternative to traditional shower boxes.

A glass shower box features easy-to-clean materials that don’t retain moisture and thus prevent the growth of mould or mildew. Its sleek design also prevents water from filling the floor surface, reducing the risks of slipping.

A shower box’s frameless structure supports a shower glass wall. Additionally, its handles and hinges are made of stainless steel.

    Lighting

Before deciding on the lighting, observe the amount of daylight that enters your bathroom. Then, you can choose lighting fixture combinations according to your observation to suit your bathroom’s needs. Balance the lighting accordingly.

Most people prefer the warm illumination and stylish appeal of pendant lights. Others install sconces as an additional design element.

Vanity lighting and mirror lights are a must-have for a well-lit space for grooming and self-care routines.

Finally, ceiling lights are used for general lighting as they can illuminate the entire bathroom area.

    Walls and Flooring

Your wall palette and flooring style should blend seamlessly with your chosen fixtures, fittings, and lighting.

Modern and classic bathrooms commonly use monochromatic colour schemes or a neutral palette.

For the flooring, designers recommend porcelain and ceramic tiles. These are affordable, durable, scratch-resistant, and waterproof. Tile floorings are available in different shapes and colours.

Lastly, remember to add the final touches. You can introduce natural elements and bring the outdoors in through in-door potted or hanging plants, such as snake plants, peace lilies, ferns, aloe vera, and spider plants, to name a few.

Hopefully, this article has given you some ideas about what your dream bathroom could look like. So have fun designing it!
