The National Club Football Association (NCFA) is an association of college American football teams. It is an CollClubSports member and runs the National Championships.
NCFA teams are usually run by student clubs, not faculty. They are not part of the institution’s intercollegiate athletic program. Any post-secondary university is able to host these teams provided that it recognizes football as a sport for clubs. However, the Intercollegiate Club Football Federation (ICFF) recognizes, in addition to the above, student clubs that do not have official sponsorship as well as independent programs that bring together students at multiple schools that would otherwise be not able to participate in college football (the NCFA allows its members to play such independent teams, but it does not permit those teams to contest for championships).
Many clubs are part of either the ICFF or NCFA. This is particularly relevant in the south and midwest. There isn’t a huge distinction between them, apart from the Northeast in which a number of NCFA member teams were ejected by the ICFF’s Yankee conference in the year 2015. The NCFA National Championship Game was played at Salem Football Stadium, Salem, Virginia from 2012 to 2015. This stadium also hosted the NCAA Division III Football Championship. The NCFA National Championship Game was played at West Family Stadium on West Liberty University’s Wheeling campus, West Virginia.
NCFA National Championship
The NCFA National Championship Bowl will be the final game in the National Club Football Association season. It is the place where semi-finalists and the winners of the NCFA Playoffs face off. The NCFA Coaches and Power Rankings selected the top two national teams. The game took place between 2012 and 2014. The NCFA created an eight-team playoff in the year 2015 that included four championship games for conference teams. The semifinalists would be determined by those four winners prior to the championship game.
The first simulcast of 2019 NCFA National Championship Bowl Game between The Ohio State University (Ohio State) and Oakland University was broadcast live on video and radio. The Buckeyes took the win, 36-9, over the Golden Grizzlies.

The 2021 NCFA National Championship Bowl Game included the top two teams from the league’s Power Rankings, rather than a playoff because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The venue was moved to Waynesburg University. This is an ideal site for all league teams.
Yearly Postseason Awards
In 2013 the National Club Football Association began to recognize Academic All-Americans with First Third, Second, and First Place. The league started naming players of the year on both sides of football as well as the head coach of the Year in 2014. Oakland University has five postseason honors to its credit and George Mason has four.
