On Teacher’s Day, you can present your beloved teacher with a handmade card that she’ll cherish forever and even showcase in her classroom. Though there are plenty of beautiful ready-made greeting cards that you can purchase, nothing beats the originality of having it created by your own hands to show your appreciation to your favourite educator. Here’s how to make a Teacher’s Day card with quilling, step by step.
What is Quilling?
Quilling is the process of shaping strips of paper or other flat material into decorative designs. Historically it has been a women’s art form but has gained popularity in recent years as a hobby that many people, regardless of gender, can enjoy. Quilling is typically done using two hands which makes it easier to create shapes and patterns, which are then layered on top of one another. A variety of tools such as tiny combs or tiny pieces of wire can be used to form 3D letters and shapes. An example would be floral swag done with various-sized quills all fashioned out of different colours.
Today I am sharing my step-by-step tutorial on how you can make your own quilled handmade card for teacher’s day! for more information read what is quilling
Materials Required For This Project
The materials required for this project are: white card stock, paper cutting scissors, glue, coloured paper, and quill needles. Step One – Place the template on your card and cut it out. It should be 5×6. Step Two – Fold the bottom corner up to meet the top one in order to form a triangle. Secure by placing some glue on one of the corners and then repeat on the other side of the card. Once dry, flip it over and take both ends of your triangle from Step One. Wrap them around the centrepiece of your card so that they lie against each other to form a cone shape at either end.
Process Of Making A Teacher’s Day Card
To make this quilled card, you will need paper shaped in the shape of an envelope. Then, use the quilling tools you have on hand (i.e. glue, quill and hole punch) and the technique of your choice to make colourful designs!
Once your design is done, place it on the card like so before glueing it together with either hot glue or any other adhesive.
Finally, give it your personal touch by adding words and painting over it before placing them on top as shown in the video! That is how you make a quilled handmade card for teacher’s day.

How to make a greeting card
I used the following supplies to make this card: quilling paper in a roll, quilling tools, needle nose pliers and a cutting mat. I also bought some sticky felt because it makes the cards more durable. If you’re really ambitious you can use some watercolour paints for the flowers!
-First I needed my flower design so I went through and practised on paper until I was happy with my idea then cut it out. You’ll want your petals around 3-4 inches long, mine was too short and they made it difficult later on when making the swirls.
-Once you have your flower design ready you will start by making small swirls or coil shapes around the centre of each petal.
Handmade cards for teachers from students
As the school year comes to an end, many teachers spend their time filling out lesson plans and grading final exams while they wait for summer break. With the ever-growing workload in most schools today, it can be difficult not to forget that this is also their birthday. If you have been making handmade cards for your friends and family throughout the year, why not try giving your teacher one on his or her day? After all, just like Santa Claus, teachers do deserve gifts on their birthdays too! Here are instructions on how to make your own card.

This is a step-by-step tutorial on how to make a quilled handmade card for Teacher’s Day.
1. Cut the cardboard as shown in the picture, and use this as your template for all of the pieces.
2. Divide up the quilling paper in half, and using one colour at a time, loosely curl each piece along each side of the box part of your pattern. Keep it loose so that it curls easily but don’t worry if you have some holes or gaps in there—that can be filled in later!
Teachers’ day card for kids
Teachers play an important role in the development of each and every student, which is why we all need to show our appreciation from time to time. One great way to do this is by making them cards on Teacher Appreciation Week (April 27th-May 2nd). There are tons of cute free printable ideas out there, but today I wanted to show you how you can make your own quilled handmade card that you can use year after year.
1) Get a piece of 8 1/2 by 11-inch paper – mine had blue dots. Use a ruler and pen or pencil to draw rows 3 inches apart along the entire sheet. I sketched several empty boxes so that I would have room for the quills later.
Beautiful teacher’s day card
A handmade card is an easy way to say thanks or I appreciate you. It shows you take the time and care in crafting something from scratch. Maybe it was your mum who taught you how to quill, maybe it was someone in your art program at school; now is the perfect time to put those skills into use and make one of these cards for your favourite teacher! Here’s how.
Teachers’ day card writing
Not many things say thanks like flowers, but what if you are pressed for time and not up on your floral arranging skills? Luckily, you can make a handmade card in just minutes with quilling paper and an ink pad. These decorative papers add detail and dimension, while the inkpad provides colour and pattern. No matter how much or how little artistic ability you have, you can create beautiful handcrafted cards.
Teachers’ day card easy
1. Measure and cut a square of paper that is 5 x 5 inches. Fold the sides into the centre, and glue the corners together. This will create your basic card shape. But you need to leave an opening on one side so you can write your message inside of it.
2. Create another layer of paper so that there are two sheets at one end, overlapping each other by about half an inch. Fold this end up like a greeting card, with just the right-hand corner sticking out furthest.
