We all agree that school systems can really use a change even in one of the greatest countries such as America. So you can only imagine the condition of schools in less developed countries in the world.
Students from first-world nations can at least hire online classes help. However, these services cannot solve every problem that exists in today’s school systems. So let’s explore the reasons why the school systems are in such a bad condition all over the world!

Low Funding
Since the pandemic, almost every country around the world is short on budget for education. This is because most of that budget is needed for public health and safety – which wasn’t the case before. Due to this, the schools have to increase the fee for students, online classes help make them unaffordable for many of them. That’s not all, this plays a huge role in why schools can’t hire enough teachers for every class. Another effect of this is that students now have fewer school supplies and resources and their books are expensive too.

Lack Of Safety
Let’s face it, gone are the times when you could just walk from school to your house safely. There are many reasons why students are unsafe in all countries around the world. Students in some countries face the dangers of violent criminals and street crimes. Meanwhile, there is the issue of human trafficking, kidnapping, and child molestation. It doesn’t end there, these days, a mass shooting is a common danger that all students have to prepare for. Of course, when the economy of the world is unstable, every citizen becomes unsafe because of the rising crime rate.
- Use Of Technology
While technology should have saved our education, it actually complicated things way more. For example, when there is a lockdown, students have to take classes and appear for exams over the internet. Moreover, students who have moved far away have to study online as well. However, many of them don’t have access to the best gadgets and a great internet connection to do this. Many of these students end up falling for something that is not their fault. This is especially an issue in developing countries and has caused students to end their lives in countries like India.
- The Testing Method
School systems test every student the same way to ensure that the system is fair towards them. However, equality and fairness don’t always mean keeping everything identical and uniform. Different students have different kinds of intelligence and ways of learning. For example, there are many students who cannot deal with numbers but have other impeccable talents. However, these students would have to spend their lives as failures because the school system does not measure what they are good at. Plus, it only puts a lot of pressure on students and lowers their confidence – making them believe they’re stupid.
- Clash With Religions
This is an ethical dilemma in many developing countries as well as those like the United States! Believe it or not, many schools around you are selective in what they teach and simply reject the evolution theory. This is only one of the prime examples of religious conflicts however, it’s common in all Abrahamic religions. Many teachers also let their religious beliefs affect what information they deliver to students and how they do it. However, they don’t seem to understand that they are supposed to teach students whatever is in their syllabus without letting their religious beliefs affect their teaching.
- Bad Faculty Members
This issue is so widespread that every student on this planet would admit to experiencing it. Even if you study in one of the best schools in your country, there’ll be bad faculty members around you. This is because there is no way to test the personality trait of people before hiring them in schools. Although there are many personality tests out there, the school systems do not explore their benefits while hiring. Moreover, many schools don’t keep a check on the teaching methods of their employees and don’t pay attention to students’ feedback.
- Bullying
Just as there are bad staff members in every school, there are bad students in every class too. Many of these bad students tend to bully other kids because they have their own underlying issues. So instead of dealing with their problems or getting help, they find it more practical to take it out on others. This is why bullying is one of the most common issues that students of every generation have faced. Another issue is that schools can only hold off bullies on school premises (if they bother to) and not outside.
- Large Class Size
There are two reasons why this happens; schools not having enough funding and schools being greedy. Firstly, when there isn’t enough funding, these schools can’t afford enough classrooms and teachers for a small group of students. As for the second point, many schools that only care about gaining profit resort to these methods for making money. As they stuff more and more kids into the same class, they have to hire fewer teachers per class too. However, this only results in low quality of education because teachers find it hard to deal with so many students.
Conclusion:
Education is one of the most important aspects of our life – whether you love going to school or not. However, students face many issues in something so important which makes them hate their school or even makes them drop-out. While online classes help to make studies more accessible to students, there are many problems it hasn’t solved. At this point, we can only work on shedding light on these problems to come up with solutions for students. If not us, at least our future generations would get to study in a better and more welcoming environment!
